Praticagem do Brasil is the non-profit association that represents the country's pilotage entities and works to continuously improve the profession and the quality of the service. It is recognized by the Brazilian Navy as the national representative body for pilotage.
By delegation of the Maritime Authority, Praticagem do Brasil coordinates the pilots' recertification programme, approves control stations and pilot-boat crews, and inspects and certifies pilotage vessels across the country.
